The Company Was Recognized for Its Development of the DataPlay MovieWriterLongmont, Colorado – August 20, 2007 – The Boulder County Business Report (BCBR) announced the 10 most-innovative companies during its eighth annual IQ Awards for innovation on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007. Within the Computers Products and Services category, the top honor went to Longmont-based DPHI, Inc. dba DataPlay, a leading developer of advanced optical storage technology.
DataPlay was recognized for its innovation in producing the first DVD burner for the digital distribution of DVD video content for playback on the large installed base of DVD home entertainment video players. This new DVD-R format extension enables new ways to distribute digital video content while potentially decreasing distribution cost for content providers and distributors. There are three usage scenarios for this new technology:
